Until now Alex and Nicolas have been responsible to setting out the Top-10 of bachata, merengue, reggaeton and salsa music, but Nicolas now has a job in Samana, and Alex was at the University in Puerto Plata.
He has completed his marketing studies, but can't find a job in that sector, so is working as supervisor in the construction sector.
This means that he's too tired in the evenings to listen to the radio and visit colmados to determine the most popular numbers.
Luckily, our well-known popular Paloma has agreed to take over this work from Alex and Nicolas.
She is well qualified for this task because she visits the beach every day to sell her CDs of bachata, merengue, salsa and ballard music.
Paloma
She knows which numbers are the most popular.
Around 19 years ago she first walked along the beach as a young girl selling nail polish, lipstick, cobs and hair brushes, perfume, jewellery and lingerie.
Paloma
Her clients were primarily Dominican women and teenagers.
Around 10 years ago she switched to selling music CDs, and now also DVDs, mostly to visiting tourists.
Paloma lives in Santiago and arrived every day in Sosúa at around 11am.
She leaves at around 6pm and does not get home until 9pm.
So, despite such a busy schedule, she thinks she will have enough time over to collate our Top-10.
Finally, on behalf of all our readers, we'd like to thank Alex and Nicolas for all their hard work until now.
They have indicated that they'll keep reading Sosúa-News and, if necessary, will always be available in an advisory capacity.
