What with all the commotion concerning the terrible earthquake in Haiti, we completely forgot to report the results of the important sailing competition held last weekend in Cabarete.
Regatta
The Dominican competitor (Aguayo) beat all his international sailing rivals.
He gained first place during this two-day battle against the main rival, Ari Barshi, who had taken the lead for two days, but was defeated in the last exciting minutes.
Peter Shope (USA) took third place.
In the Laser Radial category, Alastair Thompson (New Zealand) won this event, followed by Fred Abels (USA) and Sebastian Bros (Dominican Republic).
The Dominican competitor, Eduardo Ariza, won the Laser 4.7 category.
