Hundreds of people unemployed

It seems unbelievable, but it's true! Over 100 people have lost their jobs as a result of the recent fire at the airport. The fire ruined a large number of shops in the tax-free area of Aeropuerto Internacional Gregorio Luperón (Puerto Plata) airport. But now, to the frustration of the shop managers, their rental agreements with the airport authorities are not being extended. Some time ago rumours abounded about the fact that the airport authorities wanted to rent the shopping areas to foreign companies, because the current rental agreements were not profitable enough. Now, using the fire as an excuse, this latest decision by the airport management shows that the rumours were true.
