In the days that followed, these wonderful animals were also seen by divers from the diving schools in Sosúa.
Until now it was assumed that the manatee was expelled by uncontrolled hunting in the waters of the north coast.
But now it appears that a significant number of these unique endangered mammals have chosen the north coast again as their habitat.
The owners of the dive schools in Sosúua ensure that they will not disturb the animals and they will stay at arm's length of them.
The fishermen have immediately notified that they also will leave population in peace.
They said they are pleased to enjoy this frolic 200-300 pound animals with their children and grandchildren.
