Free fighter Alex García, hailing from Sosúa, defeated last Saturday 15 March, the Australian champion Ben 'Manimal' Wall in just 43 seconds in the first round with a KO.
'The Dominican Nightmare' as he is called, has won most of his fights in the first round with a KO.
With this resounding victory the Dominican welterweight became world champion in the UFC competition.
The champion was recently welcomed with loud cheers of a wild enthusiastic crowd in the neighborhood of La Unión in Sosúa and was carried around on the shoulders of his fans.
