At the moment a medical team is active in the neighborhood Maranatha, a borough of Sosúa, providing health care to the local population. Medical care is totally free and is made available thanks to a donation by the Rotary Club of Puerto Plata and volunteers of the 'Las Américas' project from Canada. The residents of Maranatha can register for diagnostic examinations, dental care, surgical procedures and the provision of free medicines and bandages.
