Sunday, August 10, for the 33rd year, the Dominican community in the USA held their Dominican Day Parade through the streets of New York.
The parade starts in the morning on 6th Avenue and then ends in the afternoon at 52nd Street.
Thousands of Dominicans stand on the sidewalks cheering for the parade of colorful dressed people and drum and other music bands.
In the USA live about one and a half million Dominicans with large concentrations in New York.

But many Dominicans with a visa travel to New York too, to celebrate this feast.
Also from Sosúa a group travelled to New York to participate in this parade.
At the parade also some famous bachata and merengue artists participate as Ruby Pérez, Raúl Acosta and Henry Santos.
And even several Dominican politicians participated because many Dominicans in the United States still have the right to vote.
