The counterfeiters find it increasingly difficult to counterfeit banknotes.
The current banknotes in various denominations seem to be protected very well, so counterfeit seems almost impossible.
But they are smart those counterfeiters.
So they started with the counterfeiting of coins.
The 25 peso coin has the highest value, and worth the effort for counterfeiting.

Now the police in cooperation with the judicial authorities recently raided a house in Santo Domingo where three machines were found.
The counterfeiter was caught in the act and arrested.
Equipment to manufacture the coins, a drying oven and an amount of counterfeit coins were seized.
The police traced the counterfeiter as grocers and moto conchos complained that they were regularly paid with 25 peso coins.
On closer inspection, the coins were found false and could be easily distinguished from genuine coins.
So far there have been no complaints in Sosúa about payment with fake coins.
But beware.
