Puerto Plata ready for cruise ship tourists
As it appears now, in December this year, the first cruise ships will dock in the new harbor in Maimón. The historic center of Puerto Plata is currently being completely renovated. Also, work on the amphitheater at the end of the Malecón is progressing. The theater will offer a seat to 3,500 visitors. The intention is that this theater is used for all kinds of cultural activities. But it is certain that the cruise ship port in Maimón will give a huge economic boost to the North Coast.

It seems that Puerto Plata will be ready to receive the large amount of tourists in December. The entrepreneurs in Sosúa and Cabarete hope the cruise ship tourists will also visit both beach resorts. It is hoped that the tourists want to stay over a few days in Sosúa and Cabarete and then continue the journey with another cruise ship. Both the city council and the ADSS foundation intend to organize additional activities. This, to make a visit to both beach resorts more attractive.
