Friday October 31 Halloween was celebrated in the main street Pedro Clisante.
Actually it's a children's party, because on October 31 Children dress up and go by the houses, decorated with pumpkins and lights, in the village when it gets dark and when the door opens they call 'trick or treat''

The choice is given between a teasing or a nice treat (usually candy).
In Sosúa it is more like a costume party for adults and among them especially the ladies.
A number of bars and nightclubs organize costume party competitions.
In the street it was very busy with visitors from several surrounding hamlets of Sosúa.
The management of disco Classico Club 59 (above the Merengue Club) had prices of 5,000 and 10,000 pesos for the most extraordinary costume.
At 1 AM the disco was full of people and many of them with beautiful costumes, especially the ladies.
Candidates for the competition, had to present themselves on the dance floor at 3 AM.
After much deliberation finally the very questionable jury choose the winner.
The jury was questionable because the screaming audience had great influence on the outcome.
But at the end, everybody went home happy.
The winner of the 10,000 peso suddenly had many friends among the audience.
