The new owners of the houses are also enrolled in an agricultural project.
Every family has access to a piece of land where food can be grown for personal use.
The Samaritan Foundation is in Sosúa headed by Mr Arismendy Medina and is supported by churches in Canada and the USA.
The Samaritan Foundation has been active in Sosúa with the construction of schools, churches and homes for poor families from 1987.
The foundation has so far built over 400 homes in the neighborhoods of Sosúa.
