This year again the government will distribute for Christmas food parcels among the poor people of the country.
900 thousand packages will be distributed from 19 December.
The packages include rice, sugar, maize flour, cooking oil, tomato paste, spaghetti, candy, peas and wine.
And also milk powder, cocoa, spices, oranges, cassava, coffee, sausage and chicken.
This act of good-will, costs the government 300 million pesos.
As of December 20 the residents of Sosúa can also look forward to a food parcel.
Probably the ecclesiastical authorities will designate again the lucky ones to receive a parcel.
