If you haven't renewed your Dominican identity card (Cédula) yet, hurry up.
The Central Election Commission (JCE) pointed out that the old cédula from January 10 will no longer be valid and cannot be used privately or officially after this date.
However, you can still renew your old cédula for a new more advanced ID card after January 10.
For a free renewal of you ID, foreigners have to go to Santo Domingo, Dominicans however can renew their ID in Sosúa, Puerto Plata or Santiago.
