A few months ago Marc Couturier opened a restaurant in Playa Laguna, besides the Sosúa Ocean Village Resort.
It has become a beautiful and spacious restaurant.
There is a long beautiful bar of natural stone.
The furniture is solid and comfortable.
Marc, a kind Belgian, is still busy to expand and improve the restaurant.
But customers are already very welcome to enjoy the comforts of the restaurant.
Although the menu is extensive, from schnitzel to steak and bratwurst, the restaurant specializes in seafood.

Marc has ensured a fresh fish delivery every day.
For this he has contacts with fishermen in Charamicos, Rio San Juan and if necessary, even in Montecristi.
The fishermen deliver dorado, mero, tuna, shrimp and lobster.
Marc wants to offer his guests fresh and not frozen imported fish from the supermarket, but he depends on what the fishermen offer him.
So the daily menu can be a surprise.
But every fish on the menu will be served with a delicious home-made sauce, accompanied by baked potatoes and a large salad.
Piano
Marc is Belgian by birth and speaks English, French, Spanish, Dutch and German.
So there is no language problem at the restaurant.
Marc wants his restaurant 'Picaflor' (hummingbird) to be a meeting place for the residents in the immediate area.
A meeting place where you are not disturbed by sellers or ladies offering something.
He thinks about organizing chess and bridge afternoons.

He would also like to start with classical piano Sunday mornings.
The Picaflor restaurant / bar is open every day from 10 o'clock in the morning until 10 o'clock in the evening. (Closed on Monday)
Take the first turn to left behind the Sosúa Ocean Village entrance, if you come from Sosúa.
At the end of this road turn left again and a little bit further you will find the restaurant on the left.
