Marino Castellanos at Rancho Típico
Marino had its heyday in the 80s and 90s.
Then it became a bit quiet around him.
He earned, they say, a living as a security guard (wachiman).
But in recent years, his music, the bachatas and merengues have been rediscovered.
With his characteristic voice and original texts, he gathered many enthusiastic fans around him.
Marino composes and arranges all his songs himself and additionally writes many songs for other artists.
His repertoire, consisting of bachatas and merengues can be heard on various radio stations lately.
Known productions are: Que Me lleve Quien, and Nombre De Este Amor, Corazon no Llores, Dormiras En Mi Cama, Piscina and Se Fue de Mi Lado.
But the most famous and now heard on all radio stations is: Eso Da Pa To.
This great artist will perform Saturday evening in Rancho Típico (in the Pedro Clisante) in Sosúa.
Entrance fee is 400 pesos and the band plays from 11 PM until 3 o'clock in the morning.
