Sunday 26 April, in Santiago, organized by Radio Santa María, literary prizes have been awarded to nine authors for their novels.
127 authors had submitted their work to be eligible for this literature prize.
The first prize went to a literary man from Sosúa namely Ramón Gil, who is also a member of the Thursday evening Writers collectively in Sosúa.
Ramón had submitted a short story titled 'Con los ojos de Laura' (in the eyes of Laura).
Besides a certificate, the award comes with a substantial amount of money.
Ramón Gil received from the jury a check of 75,000 pesos.
His novella 'Con los ojos de Laura', according to the jury, is a beautifully written thriller in which the passion and obsession for love is all overwhelming and ultimately ends in a surprising finale.

Ramón Gil is a teacher English- and Spanish language at the International School in Sosúa.
Sosúa can be proud to have such a talented writer in their midst.
