After June 20 driving around without a renewed license plate, can cost you a fine of 1,200 pesos.
You should report in the morning with your vehicle at the town hall in Sosúa, where you also have to show the matricula (Owner papers) and must submit a copy of your passport or cédula.
If everything is in order you can come back in the afternoon for a new license plate and a microchip which will be stuck on your scooter or moped.
The chip is then stuck on the headlight, which is a bit odd.
