School from Belgium supports school in Montellano
The students of the study program 'Pitzemburg' in Mechelen, Belgium, collected with their annual action 'Pitzemburg for Life' so much money that they could provide 600 students of the elementary school Boca Nueva in Montellano with a new school uniform and learning materials. Montellano is a town situated only a kilometer away from the Puerto Plata airport. The closure of the sugar cane factory some years ago, has brought many residents in great poverty.

So this contribution for the school equipment was very welcome for many families. The students of Pitzemburg in Mechelen organized several festivities with sales of food, performances by artists and raffles. These actions were so successful that now 600 primary students of the Boca Nueva school can start the school year 2015/2015 uniformed, but most of all happy.
