The Directors of Tourism (Mitur) from Puerto Plata, Sosúa and Cabarete recently had a meeting with Lorenzo Sancassani (director of tourism north coast) and colonel Ignacio Grullon of the tourist police (CESTUR).
They discussed problems of security.
This concerns in particular the improvement of safety for the tourist.
It is expected that from October the number of tourists visiting Puerto Plata, and hopefully Sosúa and Cabarete, will increase significantly with the arrival of the first cruise ships in the cruise port of Maimón.
It is vital that these tourists feel safe.
Measures should also be taken to increase road safety.

Something has to be done to crossing cattle, horses and donkeys.
