Beach clean-up team
Saturday September 19th it was the International beach and river clean-up day (Día Internacional de Limpieza de Playas y Ríos).
All over the world volunteers cleaned beaches and river banks during this day.
Sosúa could not stay behind.
It were the volunteers and staff of ADSS and the Rotary Club with the collaboration of Casa Marina Reef Hotel and Restaurant Waterfront who cleaned up the beach Alicia this Saturday and made it litter free.
The beach Alicia is located besides the beach at the Casa Marina Resort, right along the park Mirador.
Despite the fact that the beach always seems clean, the volunteers removed still many bags full of litter from the beach.
The sun was hot during this heavy labor and so it was a nice gesture of the firm Aqua Sasino to hand out free bottles of water for thirsty workers.
The cleanup started about 8 o'clock and at 11 o'clock the last bag with litter was carried away.
The beach Alicia is a lot cleaner now, for the time being.
