A number of tourists that stay in Sosúa, discovered to their horror that their 200 and 500 euro banknotes are not accepted by the exchangers anymore.
It is said that the banks no longer accept these notes either.
The various hotels reject these notes too.
So we encourage visitors to Sosúa to take with them only banknotes of up to 100 euros.
Notes of 50 and 100 euros can be exchanged without problems in most of the exchange offices and also at Mapello for pesos.
