On the Malecon in Puerto Plata the 'Tropical Bar' has built up a good reputation.
The restaurant and bar is located in Caseta no. 3 on the beach side of the boardwalk.
It's Mik-Fannes Labro from Belgium, who along with his Dominican wife Orquidea leads this tavern.
Recently they have expanded their menu with two typical Belgian dishes.
Vol-au-vent, also known as queens bite is a stew of chicken, with meatballs and mushrooms in a cream sauce.
In addition, they also have the Belgian Bicky-burger on the menu and for these dishes, people can choose from 9 different Belgian sauces (Andalouse, Samourai, curry ketchup, Brasil, Mammout, etc.).

Every Wednesday it's still pancake day, where you get three pancakes (with Belgian syrup and sugar) for only 100 pesos!
Besides the regular repertoire of drinks the bar offers more than 25 Belgian beers.
The bar is open every day from 12 am and closes at 12 pm, at the weekend it is open until 2 am.
