Monday afternoon at half past five a meeting was held in the amphitheater of the Casa Marina Resort.
At this meeting, to discuss the dangers and the possibilities to combat the Zika virus, more than 70 people were present.
Dr. Wady Musa was present using a slide projector to give explanations about the mosquito (Aedes aegypti) or tiger mosquito, which is the distributor of this annoying and sometimes dangerous Zika virus.
Besides covering clothes and mosquito spray all the breeding sites of the mosquito should be cleared.
Stagnant water in discarded bottles, flower pots, gutters, pots and pans, but especially in old tires, is a breeding ground for the mosquito.
Among those present were representatives of neighborhood associations, churches, police, air force and municipality.

Meeting in Casa Marina
Mayor Ilana Neumann asked everyone to take action in their neighborhood.
Those present promised to start this week to activate their neighbors to work together to clean up all trays, bottles and tires.
The mayor promised to deploy two trucks that will pick the collected refuge and bring it to the garbage dump.
The representative of Tractor del Norte noted that there are thousands of old tires laying around at the garbage dump in La Unión and each one of them is a breeding ground for this dangerous mosquito.
These tires should be collected and guarded in a deep pit covered with earth until they can be recycled.
The next few days you will see many residents collecting potential breeding grounds for the disease-transmitting mosquito.
A helping hand to lend is always welcome.
