The entrepreneur Junior J. Kerry has written an open letter in several national newspapers appealing to President Danilo Medina.
In this letter, he asks the government to fulfill its promise to build a hospital for Sosúa and surroundings.
He is supported in this call by the board of the ADSSosúa foundation and the Association of Hotels and Restaurants of Sosúa and Cabarete.
In this letter he refers to it that the previous presidents Hipolito Mejia and Leonel Fernández on several occasions assured the construction of a hospital.
Time and again during election time these presidents promised the hospital would soon be build.
But it were always just empty election promises.
Junior J. Kerry also indicates in the letter that the population plans to revolt and soon will held protest marches.
Such a protest procession was once held.
Hundreds of protesting citizens had themselves dressed in black and wore white wooden crosses with them.
Un hospital para Sosúa
Then, at the place where four years before the first pick for the construction of a hospital was hit into the ground by the then President Leonel Fernández, white crosses were stuck in the ground.
This as a symbol of all those victims who did not receive medical help on time because of the lack of a public hospital in Sosúa.
It is not yet known whether President Danilo Medina has responded to the open letter.
