The opposition to the closure of a part of the Pedro Clisante for traffic and to the closure of several bars increases.
Recently, at night the three barriers to close the street to traffic in the evening, have been sawed off by people unknown.
Barriers sawn off
The officers of the National Police now have the task to act as barriers and have their police cars parked at the entrances to the street.
The officers will make sure that no car or bike can pass the checkpoint.
Now it is low season, but by these actions of the government (closure bars and close street) there are even less visitors in the otherwise bustling nightlife street.
The entrepreneurs in Sosúa now complain bitterly about the demise of the business and there is already talk of retaliation.
The sawing off of the barriers is an example.
It's not just the bar owners and their staff who are suffering under this government, also shops, barber shops, hotels, restaurants, beauty salons, motoconchos and taxis are suffering severely under this policy.
