Recently new modern electricity meters have been installed at various souvenir shops, restaurants and bars at the beach. They seem to be very accurate and less susceptible to fraud. Some years ago, the power consumption was estimated on the basis of the existing refrigerators, lighting and sound system. If the official of the electricity company came along, the bar owners put as many electrical appliances out of sight. After this, electricity meters were installed which proved, according to insiders, very susceptible to fraud. The meter could be reversed. That has now been resolved with the newly installed meters.
