We all know Steven Wilson of Ruby's 92.5 FM, the radio station of Sosúa.
Melanie Morin has also been known in Sosúa for years for her job as hostess for several travel agencies.
When they heard that the people hiring the Voodoo Lounge decided to open a bar in the Pedro Clisante they went for it to start a bar at the former Voodoo Lounge.
So since last Tuesday there is another new bar in Sosúa with the calling name 'Ruby's Bar'.
Every Tuesday there will be a jam session and on Thursday evening a Karaoke show will be held.
Steven used to do the jam session and karaoke evenings in the Jolly Rogers pub.
Now they are back at the place were it all started.
On Friday evening there will be a salsa dancing class.
A terrific band
The salsa-dancing teacher is the well-known Toni Vargas.
Now the plan is, for the near future, to also broadcast Ruby's 92.5 FM radio from the bar.
Well, last Tuesday as mentioned was the grand opening of the nicely decorated bar with a terrific band from Santo Domingo: 'Sostenido'.
A dance on the opening evening
A band that plays in the Julian Oro Duro style.
There showed up an amazingly large crowd for the opening, however there hadn't been that much promotion for it.
They came from everywhere to check it out.
Of course the free bottle of Presidente beer was very attractive too.
Sosúa has yet another bar and the music will be (good) American style.
With all the Bachata and Merengue, it will be nice to hear some good old American style music for a change.
Oh not to forget, the prices of the drinks are at a normal level and not as exaggerated expensive as in the former Voodoo Lounge.
