It's a puzzling phenomenon in Sosúa.
A lot of buildings are unoccupied and in danger of falling into ruin.
Yet despite this high vacancy rate, new apartments, houses and hotels are being built in many places in Sosúa.
For example, disco Moby Dick, Copacabana and High carribean have not been used for years.
Also, the apartment complex next to the helicopter field, recently refurbished, is still deserted.

There are also many unfinished buildings in many places.
For example, in front of hotel hotel Voramar and hotel Sosua by the Sea.
There are malls, unoccupied for more than half.
But despite this vacancy construction works on new building in Sosúa goes on, and Sosúa keeps growing bigger.
It appears there is a lot of confidence in the Sosúa economy.
