Wednesday February 1, the Samaritan Foundation (Fundación Samaritano) headed by Arismendy Medina held a meeting in the church in Villa Paraiso.
During this meeting, 50 families were awarded a house key.
The houses were built by the Samaritan Foundation and made available for free to poor families.
In this meeting it was also announced that the foundation soon will start with the construction of a children's hospital just outside of Sosúa.
A sympathizer of the foundation has made a plot available for the hospital.
The location is just past Montellano right at the gateway to Puerto Plata.
An architectural firm from Florida has made the construction plans for free.
The children's hospital will have a capacity of 40 beds.
There is a fully equipped hospital on a professional basis.
Thus, it will be equipped with X-Ray and anesthesia machines, heart monitors and dialysis equipment.
Furthermore, two pediatric wards are required.
Many donations have already been made for the project but there is still a lot of money needed to make the project a success.
