Due to the heavy rains of the past few months the inauguration of the amphitheater at the Malecón of Puerto Plata has been postponed several times.
Even the theater suffered some damage by the rain and they fixed that first since it didn't rain that much anymore.
But now it's all set:

On Saturday, April 15th the amphitheater at the Puntilla on the Malecón in Puerto Plata will be officially inaugurated with a big party.
At the festive opening nationally known musicians have been contracted to do a performance.
Among them: Johnny Ventura, Wilfrido Vargas, Fernando Villalona, Sergio Vargas, Elvis Martinez, Vakero, Chiquito Team Band and some surprises.
The official opening and putting into service of the amphitheater will be conducted by Walter Musa, the mayor of Puerto Plata.
Furthermore, representatives of tourism, police, air force and entrepreneurs will be present.
The intention is that there is a concert in the amphitheater at least once a month on a Saturday from the opening.
