After months of delay it was finally ready:
On Saturday April 15th the amphitheater at the Puntilla on the Malecón in Puerto Plata was officially inaugurated with a big party.
The amphitheater was filled to the last seat with an enthusiastic audience.
The organization estimated that at least 7,000 people were present for this free concert.
For this festive opening well-known musicians performed.
Contracted were: Johnny Ventura, Wilfrido Vargas, Fernando Villalona, Sergio Vargas, Elvis Martinez, Vakero, Chiquito Team Band and Fefita La Grande.

Walter Musa, the mayor of Puerto Plata, officially opened the amphitheater.
There were also representatives from tourism, police, air force and business people present.
The artists performed and switched rapidly during the evening and continued until 2 o'clock in the night.
The entire show was broadcast live on TV and radio.
The intention is that a concert will be held in the amphitheater at least every last Saturday of the month.
