The Minister of Public Works, Gonzalo Castillo ordered to start a large-scale social action plan for Sosúa and Cabarete.
Social action plan
The plan includes removing weeds along the roads, exterminate disease-transmitting mosquitoes and assure the supply of drinking water and free medical and dental care.
This week the residents of Sosúa and Cabarete and the surrounding neighborhoods can rely on the social assistance plan of the government.
The extermination of mosquitoes has priority because they spread diseases such as leptospirosis, dengue, chikungunya and the Zika virus.
