On July 5 there was a protest march in Maranatha because of the deplorable state of the roads and bridges in the area.

Mayor Ilana Neumann promised then that she soon would take action to restore the destroyed bridge and asphalt the bad roads.
Last week the mayor fulfilled her promise.
The roads there have now been provided with a new layer of asphalt.
The residents were delighted.
But there was also some criticism.
The asphalt layer is applied directly to the flat-rolled sand.
The critical residents wonder whether these repaired roads can withstand the heavy rains.
