The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) has ordered to track down illegal immigrants in the province of Puerto Plata.
In this action, alongside 60 inspectors also soldiers from the 4th Infantry Army Brigade help out.
During these actions, 510 undocumented persons were arrested and deported.
Also in Sosúa several illegal undocumented immigrants (mostly Haitians) have been arrested and transferred to Puerto Plata for further research into their residence status.
Some of them could renew their status after paying a fine and have been released.
