As we have previously reported, in the La Piedra neighborhood, part of Los Charamicos, dozens of families lost their homes, caused by Hurricane Maria.
The houses near the edge of the cliff were washed away by the raging waters.
The municipal council conducted a survey among residents and the victims announced that they want to move and live elsewhere.
To rebuild their houses in the same spot will not solve the problem.
With every storm these homes, that are so close to the ocean, are in danger.
The residents want to move elsewhere, but near the beach.
La Piedra
They do not want to live too far from the beach because many of them are working at the beach offering beach chairs, selling fish or work in a bar.
