Saturday November 25 in honor of the day 'Against Violence Against Women' there was a parade through the streets of El Batey.
At this parade many students, members of the women's association, Mayor Ilana Neumann and councilors, the commander of the air base and Pastor Bernardo Vásquez took part.
The procession ended in front of the arbor at the 'Park of the flags' where the parish priest and mayor held a speech for the participants of the procession.
The commemoration of the day 'Against Violence Against Women' takes place all over the world every year on 25 November.
The names of the three Dominican women, known as the Mirabal sisters have been the symbol for the International Day 'Against Violence Against Women' since 1981.

The women had opposed the most brutal dictatorship in South America and had to pay with their lives.
