At the insistence of Mayor Ilana Neumann, EDENORTE finally started to replace the broken street lightning.
From Wednesday, November 29th a maintenance truck of EDENORTE drives the streets of Sosúa replacing the broken lights.
EDENORTE provides the energy supply for the north coast of the Dominican Republic, so also for Sosúa.
The mayor was dissatisfied with the services provided.
The municipality pays 750 pesos monthly for each lamp for street lighting in Sosúa.
But many lights don't shine at night.
But the municipality does have to pay its monthly fee at EDNORTE for these non-functioning streetlights.
