Carlos Amarante Baret, the Minister of Interior and Police has announced that from Monday December 11 to January 9 there is no curfew for the sale of alcoholic beverages.

This is until after Epiphany.
That means all establishments like bars, restaurants and nightclubs can stay open 24 hours a day and sell alcohol.
The minister also announced that during the holidays more police and military (also in Sosúa and Cabarete) will patrol to ensure the safety of citizens.
They will mainly act against firearms, drink and noise disturbance.
