For some years the Rumba Bar and Bar D'Latinos in the main street Pedro Clisante have been closed by order of the government.
Decay occurred at the closed and boarded-up bars which became an eyesore for the street.
Tourists who came here for the first time, thought they had ended up in a slum.
Rumba Bar
In recent months, we have seen a lot of work done on the bars to give it a new look.
Rumba Bar is being transformed into a sports bar with a separate restaurant with grill.
The workers we spoke to told us that the new bar restaurant will be inaugurated within a fortnight.
At D'Latinos they are also working to turn it into a bar and restaurant area.
The workers told us that the plan is to construct two restaurants next to the bar.
A somewhat upscale restaurant for visitors planning a night out and a fast-food restaurant for some quick snack.
When this new bar restaurant will be open to the public, they did not know.
But we can say that the main street is now more attractive with the two establishments being reconstructed.
