In previous years, the party took place at the end of the afternoon with soft drinks, rice with chicken and a Merengue Tipico band. This year it was set up a lot bigger. On stage, a professional merengue band performed. There was a dance floor and tables neatly covered with white cloths. Family members and key members of the Sosúa community had been invited. After the usual speeches and handing out of some charters to several officers of the National Police the party started. The music was good and those who liked to dance could enjoy themselves. It was an anniversary party where the organizing committee can proudly to look back on.
