Protest march against retrogression in Sosúa

Last Thursday afternoon, a protest march was held in Sosúa. It was a demonstration against the increasing lawlessness, rising crime and unemployment in Sosúa. The demonstration began in Los Castillos and ended on the town's helicopter landing pad in El Batey. Participants from near and far brought signs with them that said 'Sosúa get up!'; 'A hospital for Sosúa!'; 'Against gas station in the residential area';, 'Stop corruption';, 'against forced removal from La Piedra'. On arriving at the helipad, the pastor of the town of Bernardo Vásquez San Antonio de Padua in Charamicos held a speech. He called on the participants to unite in these times of retrogression. He specifically mentioned the fight against drug trafficking, against corruption in the government and against the forced relocation of La Piedra and La Gallera.
Sosúa get up!
Sosúa get up!
He urged the responsible authorities to be more responsible towards the people. Together they will fight against unemployment, a hospital for all residents and to enrichment at the expense of the people.
