The competition will be split into several categories, with each winner being awarded a trophy. The favourites in the 'Open' category are Junior Gómez (from Rio San Juan) and Zion Balbuena (from Sosúa). Top candidates in the 'Open Bodyguard' category include Miguel Angel Mejía and José Manuel Henríquez (from Charamicos), with Barri and Carlos Cabrera, Maria Trinidad Sánchez (all from Puerto Plata) also competing for the medals. Top contenders in the 'Juniors' category include Eduar Yaneuris Acevedo Santana and Glenn Willemsz from Cabarete and Sosúa. The 'Longboard' category is expected to be a fight of the champions: Daniel Alvarez (from Romana) and Mark Saint Hilaire and Alan Nadal from Santo Domingo.
Various artists will also perform in between the various competitions, and there will be a Bikini contest, a breakdance competition and skateboard event. In short, there's plenty of entertainment for everybody on Puerto Plata's Malecón at the weekend.
