Recently, the popular bar D'Latino in the street Pedro Clisante was closed by order of the government.
The owner of the bar is Willy Olivences (El Chamo), who is also deputy mayor of Sosúa.
According to Willy by this closure, dozens of workers, bar attendants, waiters, disc jockeys, porters, cleaners and kitchen staff became penniless.

Of the income of these workers entire families depend.
And not only that, supermarkets, fashion shops, hair salons, pharmacies, motorcycle taxis, etc. will have a decline in their income.
Whatever the reason is for the closure of the bar, remains unclear so far.
For today, there is a protest meeting announced.
Willy calls on everyone to come to show the government that the closure of the bar is no solution to any problem whatsoever.
So there is no more nightlife in Sosúa?
Do not worry, there are alternatives.
Rumba Bar is still open as usual.
But you can also go down the street to Rancho Tipico Sosúa where Ad, the owner of this bar, receives you with hospitality.
There's always good music like merengue, bachata, salsa and classics from the 70s and 80s.
