Due to the expected rain showers, the authorities of the Ministry of Culture have decided to shift the Long Night of the Museums a week. So now this didn't take place on 1 September but will take place on Saturday 8 September. During the Long Night of the Museums, all museums in Santo Domingo are freely accessible to the public. But also in the streets in the historic center there are exhibitions and performances by artists. The long Night of the Museums has been held for many years on the first Saturday of September. It always attracts a large audience and also for the tourist it is a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the Dominican culture.
