Tuesday 11 September Mayor Ilana Neumann of Sosúa met with the Minister of the Interior and Police, José Ramón Fadul, in Santo Domingo. Also present were the director of alcoholic beverages (COBA) Arisleyda Mercedes, Andrés Pastoriza (President ADSSosúa), the regional director of the Ministry of Tourism Lorenzo Sancassani and Humberto Pichardo, of the Sosúa Hotel Association. Two commanders of the police were also involved in the conversation. It was discussed how the prostitution in Sosúa and Cabarete can be reduced. The Minister of the Interior and Police finally came up with a step-by-step plan to systematically eliminate prostitution in both beach towns.
