Especially in the evening when visibility is less, many accidents occur as a result.
The lids were also frequently stolen in Sosúa.
Just past the High Caribbean disco, for example, there used to be two manholes that were left without a lid for months.
Passers-by had stuck branches into it so that traffic could better see the unsafe places and thus avoid them.
