On Tuesday evening, August 17, mayor Wilfredo Olivences of Sosúa was interviewed by two reporters (Junior Henriquez and Félix Corona) from the radio and TV station 'El Desahogo'.
The mayor started the conversation by saying that he has supported the current president during his election and that the president can still count on his full support.
Furthermore, all work that has been carried out so far by the municipal council for Sosúa has been paid for from its own resources.
So far, Sosúa has not received any financial support from the central government.
But if the already promised financial support becomes available, the many plans for the further development of Sosúa can be carried out.
A supervisory committee will then immediately be formed, which will set out the works transparently through public tenders.
The mayor then listed the works that will be carried out if the promised financial resources become available.
First, there should be a fire station and a civic guard station in the center of Sosúa.
There will be a municipal funeral home where the less fortunate can also say goodbye to their loved ones in a dignified way.

Furthermore, parks, sports and playing fields will be constructed or renovated.
There will be a court in Los Castillos. In the surrounding hamlets, the roads should be asphalted and good lighting installed.
It is also very important that investors can be confident that their investments are protected.
City Hall must welcome investors with open arms and offer every support and guarantee that their investments are safe.
Last Sunday the president was supposed to come to Sosúa to sign for a number of development projects.
But due to the expected storm, the president has postponed the visit.
