The chairwoman and founder Sylvia Berkley of the Dutch Foundation 'Help Sosúa Kids naar School' is currently weakened by a viral infection and can not come to Sosúa with her new raised funds.
But two volunteers, Saske and Maudie van den Broek have agreed to accept this honorary task.
They will arrive on 21 December at the beach town, and then bring with them the donations for the children of the Colegio Asher.
This is a school project with children from mainly Haitian parents, who live in the slums opposite the Air Force base near the airport.
These children have no birth certificates, neither are they registered citizens.
Therefore they can not go to a free public school.
Thanks to, among others, the foundation 'Help Sosúa Kids naar school' these children now get an education, free clothes and meals.
The Colegio Asher has also adopted 48 Haitian (orphans) in additional to the approximately 200 pupils, they already have.

Besides the usual donations they also gave money to help search shelter for these children.
From the 'Canning Trust' from London, they got help after the earthquake in Haiti.
They donated the money to pay the salaries of extra teachers for 2 years at the college.
Thus, especially the 48 children are attended to learn Spanish quickly and to integrate in the Dominican society.
Saske and Maudie van den Broek will hand out Christmas gifts on 25 December to the street children.
