The Foundation for the Development of Sosúa (Unidad Municipal Comunitario para Patrimonio Sosúa) organized last Friday afternoon, 18 March a meeting in the auditorium of the Sosúa Bay casino.
At this meeting, all important politicians, commanders of the police, businessmen, the press and citizens of Sosúa and Cabarete were invited. \
During the meeting the plans for the development of Sosúa were explained.

Of course, Mayor Ilana Neumann held an opening speech in which she welcomed the initiatives to make Sosúa more attractive as a tourist destination.
Leidy Perez then announced a summary of the plans of TURISOPP for the development the province of Puerto Plata.
However, the presentation of the plans by Carolina Gómez for the development of our tourist town was the most interesting for us.

She stated that there will be organized a number of cultural activities in Sosúa in the coming period.
It will be activities in sports (cycling, volleyball, athletics and water sports), in culture like classical music concerts, literary evenings, a Jazz Festival, as well as art exhibitions.
The exact implementation of these activities, could not be explained.

Therefore, it is not yet clear how, when and where these activities will be organized.
Then Mr Gonzalez held his speech about the plans to implement a festival of gastronomy in Sosúa, in which restaurants and hotels can participate.
Finally César Rodríguez presented a new magazine called Revista 'Ta To'.
The full color magazine is intended to promote and support the activities in Sosúa in the near future.
