Together with the National Police, the Mayor Ilana Neumann has decided that they must do something against the noise problem in Sosúa.
Noise problem
First of all loudspeakers on pick-up trucks will be banned.
The sellers advertise their goods, mainly vegetables and fruits, usually shouting with a microphone and an amplifier to the customers.
This noise will be forbidden from now on in El Batey.
From anyone who violates this regulation the sound system will be confiscated.
The tourists regularly complain about noise from motorcycles and loud music from private cars, which cruise through the Pedro Clisante road in the evening.
This is the noise pollution, which angers many tourists.
When this problem will be tackled however, is yet not known.
